Suzanne McCarron Named as President of ExxonMobil Foundation
As president of the foundation, McCarron will be responsible for guiding the foundation's philanthropic activities, including its strategic focus on advancing economic opportunities for women in the developing world, preventing and treating malaria, and supporting math and science education.
"It is an honor to be asked to take this position with the ExxonMobil Foundation and I am looking forward to contributing to the foundation's strategic focus on initiatives that can make a real difference in the communities in which we live and work," said McCarron.
"By supporting increased economic opportunities for women in the developing world, combating one of the world's major public health challenges in malaria and by enhancing efforts to improve math and science education in the United States, the foundation helps give effect to ExxonMobil's commitment to good corporate citizenship wherever we operate."
McCarron's appointment will be effective May 31, 2010. In addition to her new role, she will continue to serve in her position as General Manager, Public and Government Affairs, in which she has responsibility for public and government affairs activities for the corporation's global functional Upstream, Downstream and Chemical businesses, as well as ExxonMobil's corporate citizenship programs.
